Daily Covet: Letarte Cotton Coverup

Hi friends!

You’re probably wondering if I gave up on LBS.com or what.  Truth is, I took on a lot of freelance writing work recently and am also winding up the school year with my two boys…

This has meant less time shopping for me and a little less to covet.

But fear not, I do have a long list of covets as I head into the end of this pregnancy.  While I’m coveting virtually everything non-maternity, one item I’d love to add to my summer wardrobe is a swim coverup that will “cover” me through the summer.

This Letarte scalloped drawstring cotton tunic is so feminine and so light and so airy, I can imagine wearing it to and from the pool on the hottest of days — now that we are experiencing some 80+ degree weather!

And trust me when I say I’ve got plenty to cover up these days!!  (Are we there yet, baby?)

Daily Covet: DVF Metallic Jacquard Dress

Nobody loves a shift more than me.

And a DVF shift is perfect for balancing out my lower half.  The “shortness” of her many shifts, show off as much of my short legs as I can appropriately show at my age.

And while I won’t be wearing non-maternity clothes for a while, I would love to add this super cool DVF Metallic Jacquard Dress to my ever-growing (never shrinking) dress collection.

It has that cool retro-futuristic (clear as mud, right?) Barbarella quality about it.  And features one of this season’s hottest hues – mint green…. or is it blue?

Whatever… c’est trés adorable!

The perfect gold clutch.

I’ve been looking for the perfect gold clutch for several years.  I have these fantastic gold strappy sandals that I want to wear with pretty much everything all summer long.

This gold mini clutch from Eric Javits is the right size, the right classic shape, and I adore the little tassel.  Also, the signature flower closure matches the leather cut-out blooms on my sandals.

I guess at $300+ for this evening bag, I really would have to wear those shoes with EVERYTHING, ALL SUMMER LONG!

Daily Covet: Etro V-Neck Blouse

I know, I know, I’ve been dying for fall and winter to finally begin so that I could wear my fall finds.

But now that I’m being bombarded with all the Cruise collections, I’ve got spring on the brain.

This Etro printed v-neck blouse really caught my eye.  I love finding blouses that have unique lines.  This particular blouse not only has the most flattering neckline for me, but it provides a little camouflage for a little extra padding in the tummy and hip areas.

And of course, this blouse features shades of blue which are always my favorite.

Never hurts to be thinking about the next season, right?

Daily Covet: Luxe Leather for Fall

Good morning bloggy friends, and TGIF!

This morning, leather is on my mind… even with the expected 90+ degree temperatures where we are going!

But it’s the time to start thinking about our fall wardrobe right?!

Leather has long been an iconic style choice.  It can be rugged, like a black moto jacket.  Or more demure, like this Piazza Sempione lady coat… which happens to be my covet today.  But coming in at $4500, I may have to settle for my second favorite, which is this red quilted coat for Neiman Marcus.

Here are some other beautiful leather options from Neiman Marcus.  A leather coat or jacket for every occasion, if you ask me!

This assymetrical leather hooded jacket is another one of my faves.  Casual, elegant and unique.  So versatile!

It’s that time of year again.  The time of year when it’s still 5000 degrees out, and I start making my list for fall.

I do it every year.  And every year, the things I buy sit in my closet for months until it actually gets cool enough to wear something for fall.

Needless to say, I have started combing the virtual shoe department at Neimans, and although most of these are way out of this girl’s reach… I heart them anyway.

These delicious little shoes showed up in my inbox this morning from Neiman Marcus’ lastcall.com.  I love the color of these and think they do look absolutely taste-worthy in bright suede and shiny patent leather.  I love the cut-outs topped off with miniature ties, which makes these a twist on the typical flat.

And they are 25% off today, making them only $83.00!  Nothing yummier than a good bargain….

More lace. Another shift.

A lace shift.  What’s easier and more versatile to wear?  And in this cotton candy pink color, it’s great for a spring baby shower, Easter brunch or a summer wedding.  And the lace makes it dressy enough to be evening wedding appropriate too.

Yep, it’s here.  The nm Beauty Awards from Neiman Marcus.  It just so happens I am in need of some cosmetics.

In an attempt to not spend time in the malls with my children, I have forgone what I already know is a great brand in mascara – Lancome.  I had been wearing it for years.  Maybe because I was trying to save a little money, or maybe because I am in Target way more often than Von Maur, I have been using other brands… cheaper brands.

Well, I’m going to splurge on this new-to-me formula (Definicils has been my tried and true), because who doesn’t want Hypnose Drama Instant Full-Body lashes?  Whatever that means…

I am also almost out of liquid make-up, something I never thought I’d wear until my friend, and make-up artist, informed me that powder makes you look older by highlighting fine lines.  Ummm, I don’t need the help.

So I switched to liquid make-up, and I have to say that I actually like it.  Especially when I choose something with moisturizer and SPF in it.  I’ve never really had a favorite – so I’m going to give the winner a chance to prove its worth!

And since spring is just around the corner, and summer isn’t far behind, a tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 from Laura Mercier could be just what the doctor ordered – especially because I don’t like to wear much make-up in the summer.  Ok, really ever.
