Daily Covet: Tulle isn’t just for prom dresses anymore

Alright, so this thirty-something girl is too old to be shopping for prom dresses.  But I am looking for something full of tulle!

With two warm-weather trips on the horizon, I am doing one of my least favorite things… shopping for swimwear.  The thought of my midwestern pasty self standing under fluorescent bulbs, trying to tuck and shift and adjust my way into something tiny, leaves me feeling almost regretful I made vacation plans in the first place.

However, I have run across this sophisticated little tulle-wrapped number in my favorite (especially when it comes to bathing suits) shade of black.

I’m thinking this tulle just might be sophisticated enough for someone well past their prom years.

My Wonderful World of Fashion Book, "Kids" jcrew.com $19.95

Thinking about winter has me thinking about activities that will keep us busy indoors for a minimum of four months.  As I perused the crewcuts girls section of JCrew.com (another deep-seeded covet here), I found this great activity book for blooming fashionistas.  What a great gift for little girls, who love all things fashion!

And lest you think I wouldn’t consider buying this for my own long, cold, wintry day activity, let me remind you that I still have an arsenal of couture Barbie dolls (a collection started after I became old enough to legally drink) stashed away in storage.  I can color with the best of them!

J. Crew Erez Skirt, sadly unavailable

OH, how I love sequins!  And lucky for me, they are HUGE this year.  Anything and everything is being juxtaposed with sequins.  While on the virtual hunt for a sequin tunic to wear with some black skinny jeans, I ran across this gorgeous skirt at JCrew, one of my favorite retailers.  How fun would this skirt be for Girl’s Night Out with the back in action denim shirt and some booties or with a black cashmere turtleneck for your holiday party?  The possibilities are endless and bling is an almost everyday favorite!

Unfortunately, in the time it took me to finish up this blog from this morning, the skirt is SOLD OUT at J.Crew so will remain on my “Covet List” and not my “Season Splurge” list.  No fair!
