Trina Turk at Banana Republic

Trina Turk at Banana Republic (June 7) is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard this spring, as far as fashion goes.

I adore Trina Turk’s prints and bright colors for spring and especially summer.  And now these styles are a little more affordable at Banana Republic.  While I vowed not to shop at BR anymore because of their awful customer service here in my city, y’all can fill your closet with contemporary, poppy prints at BR!

Here is the complete lookbook.

Style Sleuth

Bloomers aren’t just for toddlers.

A good friend and I often spend a few minutes outside preschool every morning after dropping off our 5YOs.  The content of the conversation varies, but often times it’s about fashion, products or DIY.

A few times, another friend’s little girl has run from dropping off her older sister, in the cutest chambray bloomers ever.  Friend #1 comments on them every time.

So when I ran across these chambray bloomers for “big girls,” I couldn’t wait to send them to her.  And they were 1/2 off that day with a code from Lucky Magazine.  I convinced her that they would be awesome over bikini bottoms for the pool, or for playing in the back yard with her kiddos.  And after all, she does have great legs!

Swim in Spanx too?

Yep.  Spanx has swimwear… could 3 dearer words be spoken?

Not, if you are like my mommy friends and I, who are still at odds with the fact that our pre-baby bodies are never coming back.

While some of my friends look just as good, they will tell you that things just didn’t bounce back.  Their boobs aren’t as full, their tummies aren’t as tight (despite the dieting and zillion crunches) and that their hips will forever be wider.

In reality, it’s a small price to pay for our beautiful children… but isn’t it nice to know that Spanx, every woman’s not-so-secret weapon, has our backsides so to speak, when it comes to swimwear too.

Spanx swimwear can not only be a tool, but it can also be deeply discounted.  Take a look at some great options from Zulily.com today.

No ordinary Loafers

I went looking for glitter ballet flats.  I love how they look with plain old jeans and a t-shirt and thought it would be great “Mom Street Style.”  Comfortable.  Unexpected.  While I did find quite a few pairs of adorable flats, I fell in love with these glitter loafers more!

Leave glitter loafers to Kate Spade, friends.  Don’t like blue?  They come in black, gold and rose too!  And with a little bow tie to boot….er shoe.

Kate Spade New York Cora flat, nordstrom.com $225

Daily Covet: Snakes & Shifts

Snakes and shifts?  I don’t usually like snakes (I loath them), but I do like love shift dresses.  They are perfect for a girlio like me, who wears one size on top and a different one on the bottom.

This shift dress from French Connection is especially cute because of the “tough,” metallic snake print juxtaposed with the femininity of a 60′s era dress.

A perfect union really.

Uggs to your wedding?

Remember a while back when I wrote about how Ugg makes virtually everything.  Well…. I ain’t lyin’!

Ugg now has a wedding shop, which includes furry flip flops, metallic leather short boots (those have been around) and irridescent sequins classic short boots.

I’m not sure their intent is to actually have brides wear these under their wedding dresses (not that they wouldn’t be thrilled at that photo op!), but who would actually need “wedding uggs” in May, June or July?  Couples honeymooning in Chile?

Daily Covet: Anthropologie’s Confetti Glass

Party in a glass.  What’s more fun than that?  You don’t even have to clean your house.

I UH-DORE these amazing little 13.5 oz glasses, which you fill up with your favorite libation… any time after noon.  The speckles make way for bubbles, which float to the uppers of my new favorite, and dishwasher-safe I might add, glassware from Anthropologie.

Jeweled Candles to light your way

I’m not typically a candle snob.  In fact, I usually get them for gifts.  And half the time, I forget to light them.

But that was before!  Before these jeweled candles from Primal Elements at Joss & Main crossed my path, which come in inspired scents like spun sugar, champagne and citrus, bergamot and chamomile teas, and rhubarb-quince tart.

While those do call to mind some scrumptious scents, I don’t care what they smell like.  (Did I already tell you I rarely light them?)  The fact that they look so incredibly adorable with their bedazzled selves is reason enough to stock up.

And pass them out as gifts too… for other people, who may or may not light their candles.

Daily Covet: Tote your favorite city

Tote your favorite city… and don’t get lost in it either, for that matter, when you carry this earth-friendly map tote from well, maptote on myhabit.com.

At 14″ x 15.5″, these are roomy enough for the beach, the farmer’s market or just to and from work.  Of course my fave is the Paris one, but there are other ones too, like the weekend getaway trio with Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and the Hamptons on them.

I love them so much that I want them all.  One for $22 or three for $30.  You do the math.
