Daily Covet: Gucci Patent Shoulder Bag

Yes.  Another handbag.

I hope you took me seriously when I said that this blog was going to be heavy on the shoes and handbags for a while. They are a pregnant girl’s best friends after all.

It’s so nice when you’re as big as a house and it all still fits.

Today, it’s this Gucci Patent Shoulder Bag with a top handle.  If you’ve been reading this blog for some time, you may have gathered that I have a “thing” for patent leather.  And this structured bag is no exception.

This little Gucci bag-that-could isn’t too big, and isn’t too small.  It gives me a little bit of a Breakfast-at-Tiffany’s-pillbox-hat feeling, but is still a totally modern bag with it’s slight hobo-style silhouette.  And you can hike it up on your shoulder while on a spree for more shoes and accessories than one could ever wear during a single pregnancy!

Daily Covet: Burberry Berkeley Crossbody Bag

A crossbody bag, the perfect accessory for spring.

While I love big handbags, I’m really not one for filling them up.

That’s why this Burberry Berkeley Crossbody Bag is perfect for a girl like me.  If I were to be honest, I regularly carry my wallet, lip gloss and my phone.  While I may have other stuff in my bag, it’s not stuff I use often.

I can totally see this bag being the perfect size for a concert, the Summer Arts Fair, date night or dinner with my girlfriends.

Pair it with an eyelet sundress or white jeans and a flowy top, and it’s the perfect carry-most!

Daily Covet: J.Crew Hummingbird Florals

I received J.Crew’s stylebook catalog today, and got a better glimpse of a print that has been catching my eye in ads for the past several weeks.

The J.Crew Hummingbird Floral print, which is part of their “Collection” line (read $$$), has absolutely stolen my heart.  I love the pale blue background.  I love the pops of red, black, white and bits of pale pink, green and purple against the rich silk/cotton blend fabrics.

And the Hummingbird Floral-print Etta pump with glitter heels are an absolute stunning combination that will be hard to go without.  But then again, that little minaudière would be a treasured piece for many years to come!

In fact, I want virtually every piece in the collection.  But at J.Crew’s inflated “Collection” prices, I may have to just choose one!

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl XLVII:  Which will you wear?   Er… root for?

New Orleans will host this year’s Super Bowl.  My family and I will spend our time watching at some friends’ house.  And by “watching,” I mean “eating” our way through four quarters of football.

I do love football, but I have to say I’m more excited about the party and wearing team colors!

I was raised on the San Francisco 49′ers and my husband and I lived in the Bay Area for five years… so it’s only natural that we would be rooting for maroon and gold.

On the flip side, I adore the Ravens colors and have far more in my wardrobe to cheer them on.  Is that reason enough to change teams?

Neh.

Is it summer yet?

I’m ready for sandals.  How about Kate Spade Darla Sandals to be exact?  These are absolutely the cutest with all the colors of the rainbow and natural-colored pantent straps.  Three patent straps that I absolutely love.  This is a great update from similar sandals last summer and I love the new look.

I know we’ve got a long way to go, but I’m needing to pump my collection of cute wedges, flip flops, maxi dresses, handbags and accessories.

Why?  Because I will be spending the summer (all or most of it) pregnant.  Yep, you heard it here… and here for a twist on the news… that this girl will be putting high fashion on hold in favor of roomy (and tent-like) clothing.  But I digress…

The perfect gold clutch.

I’ve been looking for the perfect gold clutch for several years.  I have these fantastic gold strappy sandals that I want to wear with pretty much everything all summer long.

This gold mini clutch from Eric Javits is the right size, the right classic shape, and I adore the little tassel.  Also, the signature flower closure matches the leather cut-out blooms on my sandals.

I guess at $300+ for this evening bag, I really would have to wear those shoes with EVERYTHING, ALL SUMMER LONG!

I’ve been in need of a black evening bag for ages.  From time to time, I’ve found what I thought would be the perfect bag, but have yet to pull the trigger.

I found this Ugg Sparkle Clutch this morning and have fallen in love again.  How fun is this simple and simply bedazzled little handbag?  So great for dressing up.  Or dressing your casual self up.

It’s also my favorite fold over style.  No nonsense glamour and a not-totally-out-of-the-realm price tag makes for fun holiday dressing.

I adore this Ralph Lauren handbag.

The equestrian style is always a classic.  And the cobalt blue sheen with a silver-bit buckle is positively delicious.  It’s the perfect size and the shape lends itself to being worn “cross body,” which is oh so cool right now.

While the bag is perfect, the price is far from “right” for this stay-at-home fashionista.

But what’s littleblacksweats.com for anyway, if not to dream big?
