Daily Covet: Letarte Cotton Coverup

Hi friends!

You’re probably wondering if I gave up on LBS.com or what.  Truth is, I took on a lot of freelance writing work recently and am also winding up the school year with my two boys…

This has meant less time shopping for me and a little less to covet.

But fear not, I do have a long list of covets as I head into the end of this pregnancy.  While I’m coveting virtually everything non-maternity, one item I’d love to add to my summer wardrobe is a swim coverup that will “cover” me through the summer.

This Letarte scalloped drawstring cotton tunic is so feminine and so light and so airy, I can imagine wearing it to and from the pool on the hottest of days — now that we are experiencing some 80+ degree weather!

And trust me when I say I’ve got plenty to cover up these days!!  (Are we there yet, baby?)

Daily Covet: Peter Som Dress

Yep, we’re back to dresses… dresses that I can’t wear now, but still dresses.

I am in deep love with this Peter Som dress.  At first glance, it looks sort of “matronly.”  It reminded me of cleaning out my Great Aunt’s closet, which was full of stylish-for-the-times knit/polyester blend dresses.  But close up, this dress is cotton, slightly sheer and features a “rainbow” of blue shades that are some of my faves.

Still not convinced?  Check it out here on Rachel McAdams with a creamy, demure coat and cap-toe pumps!

Daily Covet: DVF Metallic Jacquard Dress

Nobody loves a shift more than me.

And a DVF shift is perfect for balancing out my lower half.  The “shortness” of her many shifts, show off as much of my short legs as I can appropriately show at my age.

And while I won’t be wearing non-maternity clothes for a while, I would love to add this super cool DVF Metallic Jacquard Dress to my ever-growing (never shrinking) dress collection.

It has that cool retro-futuristic (clear as mud, right?) Barbarella quality about it.  And features one of this season’s hottest hues – mint green…. or is it blue?

Whatever… c’est trés adorable!

Daily Covet(s): Roland Mouret

Roland Mouret’s fashion training consisted of three months of schooling at a Paris fashion college in the late 70′s.  You would never know.

Mouret’s dresses always catch my eye when worn on the red carpet, and strike me as a highly wearable piece of art and architecture… if you can afford it, that is.

Roland Mouret dresses don’t come cheap, as many start well over $2000.  It doesn’t however, cost anything to oggle these dresses online and that’s what I have been doing.

Take a look for yourself…

Daily Covet: J.Crew Hummingbird Florals

I received J.Crew’s stylebook catalog today, and got a better glimpse of a print that has been catching my eye in ads for the past several weeks.

The J.Crew Hummingbird Floral print, which is part of their “Collection” line (read $$$), has absolutely stolen my heart.  I love the pale blue background.  I love the pops of red, black, white and bits of pale pink, green and purple against the rich silk/cotton blend fabrics.

And the Hummingbird Floral-print Etta pump with glitter heels are an absolute stunning combination that will be hard to go without.  But then again, that little minaudière would be a treasured piece for many years to come!

In fact, I want virtually every piece in the collection.  But at J.Crew’s inflated “Collection” prices, I may have to just choose one!

Daily Covet: DVF Delian Leather Dress

A few weeks ago, I did a round up of upcoming spring fashions for “My paying gig.”  In the article, I mentioned that leather will be just as hot for spring as it was for fall/winter in 2012.

So this DVF Delian Leather Dress is just what the “style doctor” ordered!  I know it’s hard to tell, but from here the leather looks buttery soft and how chic that it’s also in a creamy white color – lighter for warm weather.  Also looks like the peplum is here to stay for at least another season.

If I weren’t going to be sporting a baby bump all spring and summer, I’d be waiting for this hot, little number to go on sale!

Daily Covet: Lilly Pulitzer Charlene Dress in Stripes

I know it’s only early January, but Spring Fever is kicking in hard core.

I’m tired of knee boots, jeans, turtlenecks and heavy coats already.  I’m really wanting to wear lightweight dresses and sandals or flip flops, open-toed shoes and bright-colored shorts.

Obviously, there are a few months — even after the snow is gone for good — that sleeves and heavier fabrics are still in order.  That’s why this adorable striped Lilly Pulitzer Charlene Dress would be the perfect transition to warmer weather and shorter hemlines.

Daily Covet: DVF dress and I’m baaaaccckkk!

Hi bloggy friends.  Sorry I’ve been MIA, but the holidays and being sick have kept me from doing much posting… ok, any posting for weeks.

But!  Never fear, I am back and of course, my wish list for my spring wardrobe is getting long already.

Today, this DVF Fleurette Dress is quite possibly one of my most favorite resort looks of the season.

Diane Von Furstenberg is one of my faves anyway — especially because I absolutely adore dresses.  But her styles and fabrics are to.die.for.

This particular frock just looks so easy to wear and would be completely hot with both gold or silver sandals, bangles and oversized hoops.  While I have a few months before I’d actually be able to wear this in my ‘hood, I’m craving it’s color now!

Daily Covet: Prabal Gurung Floral Sheath Dress

I have been in deep love with this Prabal Gurung sheath dress since I saw it on some A-lister in some magazine (I can’t place either one.)

Normally, I’m not much of a floral print girl.  But to me, this dress looks like a Japanese painting.  Turquoise, pink and hints of lavendar make this a totally standout dress in the wake of typical  black evening attire.

And today, I could order my very own!  That is, if I had an extra $2200 keeping my bank account warm…
