Michelle Smith’s Milly dress provides nice “armpit fat” coverage and a relaxed fit that skims “birthing hips,” two things I could live without, frankly. However, since these are a forgone conclusion, I’ll dress for the body I HAVE, not the body I WANT.
But there are two more details that make this dress anything but post-pregnancy frumpy: Sheer insets at the sleeves and an exposed zipper, which I’m always a sucker for.
This post will be short and sweet because I’ve gotta get someone off to school and two others to the pool for one of the last waning days of summer.
But that doesn’t mean I was going to skip posting this UH-MAZING Givenchy Nightengale Satchel. I have to say that I’ve got nothing but love for this bag. And why wouldn’t I when it’s oh so close to my annual handbag budget… NOT. But that’s what LBS.com is for, right?
So take a long, hard look at what I wish I was going to be carrying this fall. I also wish I was going to be wearing something without spit-up on it this fall, but that’s probably not going to happen either.
Bloggy friends, I have my mojo back. My maternity clothes wearing days are over!
The fall fashion is starting to roll in to the stores, and I’m attending Fashion Week here in the Midwest next week.
But right now, I’m smitten for coats! This RED Valentino coat, in particular. I think I love this line even more than the original Valentino couture. I adore how feminine this coat is and how it fits and flares – perfect for covering up post-preggy saddle bags!
Sadly, I would have the opportunity to wear this coat approximately three times during a season. But seriously with these lines, would you even need to wear anything underneath it?
What, but Lanvin, could pull me out of my maternity funk?
After almost ten months of stretchy jersey, below the bump, swollen-ankle-hiding attire, Lanvin has restored my faith in the excitement of fashion again.
While it’s not bloody likely (my British contribution to the new heir) that any of these fabulous pieces will be mine-all-mine, at least my wannabe-couture sensibilities were not lost with my waistline.
Bloggy friends, sorry for the hiatus in LBS.com blogging. This post about my desire to stop having to wear clothing with panels should explain why my inspiration for daily shopping has waned. Read more at Momaha.com today for tips on dressing a postpartum figure!
If you’ve been reading this blog for even a minute, you know that sometimes I put things on here that are “nice-to-haves” instead of “have-to-haves.”
This Vera Wang embroidered jacket in silk mesh and organza is a “die-to-have!” Is it practical? No. Is it affordable? No. Is it even splurgable? NO! (Someone please explain how at $2995, it’s already sold out! Who are these people?!)
But then, that’s what The Daily Covet is for, right?
I can soooo see this with brocade shorts or black silk harem pants. How positively exotic I would look going to… right, where would that be?
Summer weather has finally started to rear it’s head around here.
That means backyard BBQ’ing and outdoor parties will soon become a reality – especially as we make our way toward my four-year-old’s birthday in early June and my own – GASP- 40th in July!
These mini Mason Jar sippers immediately caught my eye and made me long for the lazy days of summer and pink lemonade. I picture a gaggle of sweaty 4-year-olds walking around sipping from cute red and white straws.
But who’s to say that these cute little jars wouldn’t make great high ball glasses filled with hard lemonade for the older set?
