Daily Covet: Mini Mason Jar Sippers

Summer weather has finally started to rear it’s head around here.

That means backyard BBQ’ing and outdoor parties will soon become a reality – especially as we make our way toward my four-year-old’s birthday in early June and my own – GASP - 40th in July!

These mini Mason Jar sippers immediately caught my eye and made me long for the lazy days of summer and pink lemonade.  I picture a gaggle of sweaty 4-year-olds walking around sipping from cute red and white straws.

But who’s to say that these cute little jars wouldn’t make great high ball glasses filled with hard lemonade for the older set?

So many possibilities!

Daily Covet: Letarte Cotton Coverup

Hi friends!

You’re probably wondering if I gave up on LBS.com or what.  Truth is, I took on a lot of freelance writing work recently and am also winding up the school year with my two boys…

This has meant less time shopping for me and a little less to covet.

But fear not, I do have a long list of covets as I head into the end of this pregnancy.  While I’m coveting virtually everything non-maternity, one item I’d love to add to my summer wardrobe is a swim coverup that will “cover” me through the summer.

This Letarte scalloped drawstring cotton tunic is so feminine and so light and so airy, I can imagine wearing it to and from the pool on the hottest of days — now that we are experiencing some 80+ degree weather!

And trust me when I say I’ve got plenty to cover up these days!!  (Are we there yet, baby?)

Sorry, bloggy friends, for not doing much fashion these days.   My “paying gigs” are keeping me busier than Momaha mugever.

Enamel striped rings?

You thought I was going to say bracelets, didn’t you?

At first glance these rings do look like bracelets.  But they are actually the miniature version perfectly sized for ring fingers instead.

I adore the turquoise rings with brushed gold stripes and a fun bezel-set rhinestone, of course.  These ring sets also come in black, white, orange,  mint and peach too.  (I can’t wrap my head around these colors again — too high school!)

Daily Covet: Gucci Patent Shoulder Bag

Yes.  Another handbag.

I hope you took me seriously when I said that this blog was going to be heavy on the shoes and handbags for a while. They are a pregnant girl’s best friends after all.

It’s so nice when you’re as big as a house and it all still fits.

Today, it’s this Gucci Patent Shoulder Bag with a top handle.  If you’ve been reading this blog for some time, you may have gathered that I have a “thing” for patent leather.  And this structured bag is no exception.

This little Gucci bag-that-could isn’t too big, and isn’t too small.  It gives me a little bit of a Breakfast-at-Tiffany’s-pillbox-hat feeling, but is still a totally modern bag with it’s slight hobo-style silhouette.  And you can hike it up on your shoulder while on a spree for more shoes and accessories than one could ever wear during a single pregnancy!

A crossbody bag, the perfect accessory for spring.

While I love big handbags, I’m really not one for filling them up.

That’s why this Burberry Berkeley Crossbody Bag is perfect for a girl like me.  If I were to be honest, I regularly carry my wallet, lip gloss and my phone.  While I may have other stuff in my bag, it’s not stuff I use often.

I can totally see this bag being the perfect size for a concert, the Summer Arts Fair, date night or dinner with my girlfriends.

Pair it with an eyelet sundress or white jeans and a flowy top, and it’s the perfect carry-most!

Get out your popcorn socks bloggy friends!

That’s right, Reeboks “Classics” have returned.  And they are bolder than ever as they were crafted exclusively for Nordstrom in collaboration with Alicia Keys.

If you were coming of age in the late 80′s like I was, you will no doubt remember these high-top sneakers worn with extra-scrunchy socks. Sometimes even layered… as if!  80's_popcorn_socks_-_Google_Search

You may have been sporting them with your Guess jean skirt (jeans weren’t coolly referred to as “denim” back then.)  Or maybe you were still “pegging” your jeans.  Whatever.  These were the “it” shoes for a time and now they are back!

I just can’t imagine picking my sons up from school in these, shall we say, “retro” kicks.

Sometimes, it’s just better to move forward.

Daily Covet: Vince Camuto T-Strap Sandals

Spring.

I’m ready for sandal weather.  I want to get my pedi on and show it off with pretty open-toed shoes and sandals.

I also want to wear these Vince Camuto Tezer Tortoise Sandals that I just ordered.  You would not believe the deal I got on them.  And what’s more?  How I actually got them for free – shipping included!

Months back, I ordered a beautiful Burberry watch for my husband.  This particular retailer sent me an empty box.  There was a little back and forth that went on.  To make it up to me, they sent me a $50 gift card via email.  Now that’s customer service!

I’ve been holding onto that certificate thinking that I’d try to order something fabulous and a little indulgent.  So when I found these fun “dancing with the stars” shoes, which will go with just about anything, I had to spring for them.

They should be arriving any day now!
