Each handbag, tote or envolope-style clutch is made from certified organic cotton, dyes that are free of heavy metals and are sustainable from the inside out. Not only that, the company’s mission is to raise awareness for organic cotton and its positive impact on people and the planet.
Cute, practical and good for the earth — what a concept!
These kitten pumps are slightly wilder than your average pump in their leopard yumminess. Wild in print, and demure with a little key hole front, and topped off with a black bow. Let’s not forget the statement-making patent upper.
I picture these pumps with J. Crews cafe capris in jewel tones come fall. Or a simple LBD to the wedding we are attending in September. Or jeans and a bold top for a girls’ night out. Oh, the possibilities are endless….
I have this black bikini from my pre-baby days that I adore, even though the top got a little skimpy post baby.
I still love the bottoms, but bought a replacement top with more coverage, and have mixed separates that I also like to mix and match.
With that said, the bottoms have become a little played out… the elastic is losing it’s elasticity. The strings on the sides are starting to poke through their black fabric covering. And the once shiny, black material is losing its luster.
So I am on the hunt for a new pair of side tie bikini bottoms that will fit me, whether I am wearing a halter-style top, a tankini or other separates that I feel like throwing on that day. Here are a few I’ve found so far… but fit, fit, fit will be the key.
I hope I can replace them!

Nora Ephron, quite possibly one of the funniest women on earth, died today of pneumonia brought on by acute myeloid leukemia.
She wrote romances that even men loved. And she captured the way people truly speak in her writing.
Her generation of women weren’t expected to “do” much, but marry and become mothers. But Nora Ephron had many successful careers as a journalist, a blogger, an essayist, a novelist, a playwright, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and a movie director. She excelled in a field dominated by men, and did so with her signature humor in tact.
If the number of times I’ve watched When Harry Met Sally in my life (and it’s a lot!) could correlate at all to my respect for her writing, it wouldn’t be nearly enough.
She truly was one of the women I admire most in this world. I’m sure she will be missed by many.
After being named creative director of Diet Coke, YES you read that right, Jean Paul Gaultier revealed two haute bottle designs. One bottle is a day nautical theme and one is a night burlesque theme. Now the highly anticipated third bottle has been unveiled in a tattoo theme. The bottles are available across nine countries in Europe starting this month. Cute!
I love totes. I’d rather carry a tote during the summer than almost any other bag. They are ideal for stashing flip flops when you want to start out wearing high, wedge sandals. Store sunscreen, snacks and drink pouches for the kids. Or toss in your cardigan for all the places that are highly air conditioned on a hot, summer day.
This Meredith Wendell Curved Tote is perfect for the “tote of the day” job. Of course, it’s in my favorite color, and the “braided” in handles are a cool, contrasting navy. Interior pockets, with and without zips, let you stow those smaller objects, which tend to get lost in oversized bags. And the flat bottom means you can set them upright without everything dumping out.
This cute bag also comes in gray with salmon-colored handles and an apple green (a close 2nd favorite!) with honey-colored, natural leather handles.
Console tables really can be multi-purpose pieces of furniture. If they are a good size, shape and style, they can really move and grow with you.
Case and point, this console table. Toooootally, not my style under normal circumstances. However, since I’m so into boldly-painted furniture, I thought the oversized proportions, turned legs, etc. would be the perfect home for the smaller tv, dvds and toys in our sunroom.
Imagine large baskets filled with toys, tucked nicely underneath this fun piece that happens to also be on super sale at the aforementioned furniture store. There are also those two nice, big drawers to store DVDs, and it’s shallow in depth, so it would be far less intrusive than the oversized art-deco desk that we have in there now.
I imagine this painted in a bright, high-gloss turquoise or yellow and packed full of all the things my kids love (those, which I hate to have strewn about my sunroom all the time!)
Bon nuit bloggy friends. Sorry I’ve been MIA today, but have had much paying work to get done.
Hopefully, you missed the daily covet!
I was shopping a furniture sale with a friend this weekend, who is buying a new house. We hit up a liquidation sale at Mrs. B’s, the sister store (and where really great furniture goes to be discounted or to die) to Nebraska Furniture Mart, one of the country’s largest furniture stores if I’m not mistaken. For so long, I have rejected the idea of a sectional. That is, until I moved into my house with a very narrow and long family room in the basement.
It’s the perfect place for a lovely sectional that is comfortable and provides a lot of seating for things like football games and movie nights. With that said, I found this amazing, designer sofa marked down from $3900 to $1199! While it lacks an impressive quality in the picture, I can assure you the Danish linen upholstery and nailhead trim is nothing short of beautiful… minus the ugly throw pillows.
It’s so pretty in fact, that I now want it for my living room instead, which is the long, narrow room directly above my family room. Now if I could just convince my husband we NEED it, when we have a perfectly good sofa already. Sigh….
You can look put together, fashion forward and a little classic all at the same time. And what’s better, your feet won’t hurt after a long day of museum hopping, running errands or lunching with the ladies.
Add a straw bag or a nylon cross-body bag, and your look is complete!
And since orange and pink is one of my most favorite color combinations (Don’t believe me? See here!), this tunic dress immediately caught my eye.
Shopping, lunching, not wanting to wear your little black sweats the 5th day in a row… just sayin’… this tunic dress has it all! And it has a lightweight, cotton construction for comfort with a silk blend that will dress it up a smidge.
