Daily Covet: Vera Wang Embroidered Jacket

If you’ve been reading this blog for even a minute, you know that sometimes I put things on here that are “nice-to-haves” instead of “have-to-haves.”

This Vera Wang embroidered jacket in silk mesh and organza is a “die-to-have!”  Is it practical?  No.  Is it affordable?  No.  Is it even splurgable?  NO!  (Someone please explain how at $2995, it’s already sold out!  Who are these people?!)

But then, that’s what The Daily Covet is for, right?

I can soooo see this with brocade shorts or black silk harem pants.  How positively exotic I would look going to… right, where would that be?

Anyway, I’d still die-to-have!

Daily Covet: Banana Republic Cotton Coat

Coats?!

I know, I know.  I just need a new lighter weight coat for the fall and spring seasons coming up.  I didn’t buy anything this year for obvious reasons.

But, what better time to find a new coat than when they are on wicked sales?

I love this bright cotton coat from Banana Republic.  It’s simple, has lady-like lines and will go with virtually everything.

It almost makes me excited for fall… almost.

Daily Covet: Mini Mason Jar Sippers

Summer weather has finally started to rear it’s head around here.

That means backyard BBQ’ing and outdoor parties will soon become a reality – especially as we make our way toward my four-year-old’s birthday in early June and my own – GASP - 40th in July!

These mini Mason Jar sippers immediately caught my eye and made me long for the lazy days of summer and pink lemonade.  I picture a gaggle of sweaty 4-year-olds walking around sipping from cute red and white straws.

But who’s to say that these cute little jars wouldn’t make great high ball glasses filled with hard lemonade for the older set?

So many possibilities!

Daily Covet: Letarte Cotton Coverup

Hi friends!

You’re probably wondering if I gave up on LBS.com or what.  Truth is, I took on a lot of freelance writing work recently and am also winding up the school year with my two boys…

This has meant less time shopping for me and a little less to covet.

But fear not, I do have a long list of covets as I head into the end of this pregnancy.  While I’m coveting virtually everything non-maternity, one item I’d love to add to my summer wardrobe is a swim coverup that will “cover” me through the summer.

This Letarte scalloped drawstring cotton tunic is so feminine and so light and so airy, I can imagine wearing it to and from the pool on the hottest of days — now that we are experiencing some 80+ degree weather!

And trust me when I say I’ve got plenty to cover up these days!!  (Are we there yet, baby?)

Feminism: The Media’s “F” word

Sorry, bloggy friends, for not doing much fashion these days.   My “paying gigs” are keeping me busier than Momaha mugever.

I did want to re-post a piece I did for Momaha.com today though, because I think it’s incredibly relevant and  incredibly important. (Read here)  Please take a few minutes to read the blog, and even see what Miss Representation is all about.

Thanks, as always, for reading LBS and I’ll be back soon with some fashion inspiration.

Bon Weekend!

Amy
